Knuth Hornbogen, founder of SKIA, was born in Rendsburg in Schleswig-Holstein in 1968. He began his studies at the Köln International School of Design (KISD) in 1996; was awarded the Austrian government award »Ecodesign« (together with Bernd Oette) in 1998; and received his diploma in 2001. Since then, he has been working as a freelance journalist for numerous daily newspapers and design magazines (including Design Report, form, Hochparterre, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Frankfurter Rundschau, Der Standard). He is a founding member of the German Association for Design Theory and Research (DGTF), and has a complete command of carpentry. In Autumn 2003, he founded SKIA GmbH Deutschland. Knuth Hornbogen lives and works in Cologne. |
